Ecoparcel.net (Ecoparcel.eu) scam or not? Reliable??

I have been searching to send a parcel online and I looked on many many many website of courier companies. I found all sort of prices, offers, time for deliveries but the cheapest one I found was Ecoparcel.eu. (Before I used the Ecoparcel.net now defunct)

The site isn’t the best (it get stuck with Firefox), information about the company are poor and I had seriously doubt that was a proper company and I definitely suspected a scam.

But they updated the site and accepted Google Checkout that will provide a decent fraud protection so I decided to try my luck and use it. I paid for my parcel and today a big courier company (Under another name) has just collected my box…I will soon update you if the box will get to destination! But at the moment it seems everything all right!!

### Update ###

After a bit of waiting the delivery has finally arrived safely at destination! I have also add some funding trough bank transfer (I still not understanding why they don’t add the credit card payment!!!) and my money were successfully added to my account. Now I have ordered another delivery after the first test was successful.

I would definitely state that, even tough the site isn’t properly designed or functioning,  Ecoparcel is a real company that offer reliable deliveries at a very convenient price. (The cheapest that I know so far)

If you work for Ecoparcel and you’re reading me PLEASE do this as soon as you can:

  • Fix cross browser compatibility (Your site doesn’t work in Firefox)
  • Add other method to pay (Like Credit Card, Paypal or whatever system) You’re an ONLINE business.
  • Answer to the mail people send to you.

Please check the comments that many people had a very bad experience and if you have any comment please post it!

  1. Hey, i`ve been using ecoparcel.eu for couple of times, and i didnt have any problems. Yes, the website is quite poor, and they stopped Google Checkout for now (they claim they`ll fix it soon, lets hope so!). but i didnt experience any other problems so far:)

I used Ecoparcel a few times and never had any problems, then I sent an employee to my bank to transfer funds to my Ecoparcel account and they FORGOT to put my client number on the transfer and just put my company name. Wow! that money is lost in space! I sent a letter to the address on the site, no response, their “Contact” formon the site just sends you to FAQ. I contacted their bank in the Netherlands who couldn’t help me.
    Not happy.

  3. Well, are you sure that your employee deposited the money? How long have you been waiting? Have you tried to log-in and contact them?

  4. there are TWO ecoparcels, one only accept checkout and paypal (the legit one) one accept card payment to your balance or bank transfer- this one is a scam. DO NOT USE IT!!!!! they take your money, never turn up for your parcels and then tell you they have confirmed pick up.\STEER CLEAR AND AVOID!!!

  5. I have used ecoparcel.eu to move packages from Spain to the UK and had no problems. UK Parcel Force delivered within 4 days on time. I was out. Came back day after. Cheapest quote of five carriers. 5* for service. No stars for communication though. Tracking works.

  6. Total SCAM, been trying to get them to collect two parcels for a week and they just close the tickets down saying they attempted a delivery after 6 hours (1600 – 2200), they didn’t call and the center is manned 24 hours.

    DON’T ATTEMPT TO USE THEM

  7. I take it back, NOT A SCAM.

    They are based in the Netherlands I think, I booked a collection for 2 60*65*49cm parcels to go to Italy weighting 39kg each.

    CHEAPEST quote ever was on euparcels site, I considered it and looked at others but everyone was about €150 – €400 dearer.

    I added the credit and booked them but they didn’t arrive the day I was told. Messages went back and forth on their system wich needs a lot of work, firstly stop saying ‘Hello dear’ at he beginning as it made me think I was dealing with a scammer.

    Then they actually arrive several days later as they said on the day I had been expecting them and 2 days later it’s in Italy. Not the 3 days quoted.

    Cheap service but crappy public relations. It works somehow.

  8. Used them a few times with no problems.
    This time though parcel was collected on 11 Jan 13 but still not delivered in Italy today 11 Feb 13! They do reply but always with auto message hello dear do not worry every time but still no parcel or phone number as requested.
    Im am now worried about my €200 package of items

  9. They did not get the parcel from the sender the date they told they were taking it. The parcel never made it to destination and they never gave me any information about the status or the caouse of the problem. When the parcel arrived back to the sender (after almost a month traveling through Europe), items were damaged and Ecoparcel did not take any responsability on it. The cotumer service is rubbish as they never provided any information and never answer any questions. They just appologise over and over again.

    They basically took my money without providing any service.

  10. SCAM

    I made an order on 27th of February, and until 19th of March noone came to pick up the parcels. I was communicating the issue with them and they were very polite with their answers, saying sorry all the time and booking the pick up dates and in the end of the day nobody would show up again. I know some people managed to send parcels without problem with them, but if you can, avoid them and avoid troubles!

    You can successfully use a credit card to pay for the shipment as well as make a bank transfer. The latter one takes about 1 or 2 working days for your money to reach Eco Balance.

  12. i have attempted to contact ecoparcel 3-4 times over the past 2 weeks and have still not had a reply . i am getting very worried that my item will not be collected. as needed to make sure i gave them the correct address for collection. i do not want them to say they could not find the address etc.
    i am very concerned that this is a scam, i am very dubious that these reviews above are legitimate.

  13. Hi Wendy, have you provided your telephone number? They are merely a provider and redirect to proper courier. For example mine was collected by GLS. I used them twice and my packages where collected/delivered but many complained on the fact that they do not reply to any request. If you pay and you’re waiting for 2 weeks did you have credit on your account? And after order the collection…

    I’ve been trying to contact ecoparcel for 4 days now. They don’t answer. I placed an order from France to Italy and I need to cancel ot because no one will be at home to open the door to the mailing guy. After reading so many BAD reviews I just want to cancel it and my money back, but not in my ecobalance but back in my card.
    I can’t beleive that I have been e mailing them and dont even answer, I wonder what can happen with my things. I’m not rich and 80, 26 euros are a lot for me, so please ECOPARCEL TEAM, have de decency to respond!

    I am very afraid of my stuff. The courrier (GLS) Ecoparcel use to send stuff from Italy to Slovakia probably put a wrong label with wrong number/code because there was a name of person from the order I cancelled. By the way, I cancelled one of two ordders and didn’t receive any refund.
    Ecoparcel, if you want not to be called the biggest SCAM please provide a correct service.: give refund to people that cancel orders and answer to mails!!!
    I am very pissed off!!! And unfortunately need to send 3 more packs!!!

    By the way, sicne GLS put a wrong label, the guy at the destination was asking for a wrong person and didn’t find her. So he put on the door of the 12storeys house a sticker with some pphone number but nobody is answering because the number is switched off all time!!!

    I want my stuff to be delivered!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. I think you should contact GLS and not Ecoparcel. They are the ones that are handling the delivery. And goes without saying that Ecoparcel support is extremely poor and I don’t really understand why is so bad.

  17. I wanted to know who would pick up my parcel and when.
    If I want to know about my parcel I need a parcel number but never got that.
    Could anyone tell me how you get your parcelnumber or do I better leave it at that?
    They also say on the site that you can easily cancel and will have your money back in the bank.
    Not true????

  18. The should have left you a tag with a code. At least they did to me. If you remind the courier you can call them. About cancellation not a clue but from what you can read here they don’t really reply to any request.

  19. Ecoparcel are totally incompetent. They will not help you if you ( they) run into problems . They are not even really involved in the process. They employ in Italy at least totally incompetent couriers who , in my families case, are going to cost us about 600 euro trying to fix their pathetic ‘service’.

    I have been trying to fix the problem for them but they won’t even let me. I have offered to pay for a taxi to take the boxes to the depot because their couriers are so useless. They have refused to let me know where to take them.

    A two year old would find my apartment but ecoparcel tells me they can’t find it. They have not even heard of googling an address.

    They have wasted 3 weeks of my time and my daughters clothes and toys are still stuck in Rome – Via Albricci 16 for anyone form ecoparcel.

    Not worth the gamble. Avoid if you want to see your goods again. I think they are based in India and have no idea what is going on with the parcels. The tracking system does not work at all.

  20. I had problems with Ecoparcel too, didn’t even deliver it to the door like promised… I had to pick up a 23 kg package from this post office 5 kilometers from home, by BIKE.

    If you have to contact them, you can find them on Facebook. I sent a message and a few minutes later they replied. Didn’t really get a proper answer why my parcel was delivered to the post office and not home…

  21. I booked a parcel to go to uk from france, ecoparcel price looked good at the first quote, but when I transferred money to them, they did not get the amount right and stated that I had sent 5 centimes too little !
    I have been 4 days trying to get this sorted, but still not achieved anything. It now looks like an international scam.
    No replies to the emails I sent were forthcoming.

  22. Eco Parcel a waste of time and money (Italy)
    Eco Parcel said they would collect my parcel on 02/12 here we are on the 4th/12 no collection I stayed in for 2 days waiting I sent them an email They said they made several attempts to collect my parcel which was not ready This is totally untrue no courier called to my house This company and or its agents are undependable

    I am currently trying to have a parcel sent from Spain to UK. I have ordered it for a specific date and the pick up guy came that very day and rang my mother in Spain the previous day to let her know the time they will be there. They have tried to send it to UK but the weight i paid for was exceeded due to my mother’s scale not working properly. They have tried to drop off the package the very next day but she was out and left her a note. Today they just dropped it off and again she was not home but the courier drove to her work place and left it there for her. In their faq section ecoparcel state they do not refund parcels not sent due to being over weight and despite that, after i contacted them they replied within 2 hours letting me know they rearranged for it to be picked up tomorrow as i have asked them. I will post again once the parcel will arrive here. Also, 1st time round they sent an e-mail saying it will arrive withing 24 hours only and I know it usually takes 2-3 days with them after the pickup date to arrive from Spain to UK. Based on my experience with them so far I would definitely recommend them. I was a bit suspicious at first myself and tried looking for alternatives but they were too expensive. The main reason i was a bit uneasy about using their services was this page and some of the reviews here so I thought i should post my experience so far. So if you are interested to send something from Spain to UK or vice versa, you should definitely they ecoparcel

  24. I used this service 4 years ago and got a pair of skis sent from France to Sweden for 18 euros. It took 7 days. I think they use free shipping capacity so if you can allow some delivery time, it is very affordable.

  25. Ecoparcel is the worst that you can ever do! I did an order and after two minutes i saw i made a mistake so i cancel it and did a new one, thinking that the money will come to my account in few days. and made a new order. all was ok, the pick up day came and the corries asked for 2 packages. He took the one. Ecoparcel send me a message that i missed a pick up……what was bullshit, because fortunately a friend of mine found the package and it came all good in time, but for them i missed the pick up. I contacted them ad they told me that a manager will call me but never happened. they did 2 orders with the same number and as they do not care. they are just sending the missed pick up mails. They never put the money from the cancelled parcel back to my account. I will never advice to anyone this services. And the worse is that they do not even care.

  26. Envié dos paquetes uno para Italia y el Otro para Inglaterra. Los dos llegaron a Inglaterra. Llevo 3 meses enviando mail para solucionar el problema y después de muchas respuestas incompetentes, nada. Me cogieron por mentirosa y tuve que reenviarlo de mi bolsillo. Según mi opinión son unos ladrones, poco profesionales y el servicio es nulo!!! Trabajan los de TNT por ellos y si se equivocan los palazos de Ecoparcel no se cogen la responsabilidad, dicen que no depende de ellos. Creo que no entienden el valor de las cosas de las personas, quieren ademas que les pagues antes por un servicio desagradable.

  28. I would be a genius scammer to put my name on it 🙂 I shared my experience and let others people share theirs that’s all. Ecoparcel isn’t a courier but just a system to book them for what I understood. And for my experience it worked just fine.

  29. I went through all these websites because I want to send my luggage from France to London next week and that the airlines are way too expensive especially for the luggage. Ecoparcel was by far the cheapest I have found after I entered all the information needed (Zip codes, Parcel size & weight). I decided to go with it, but it then asked me to put some money on the Ecoparcel balance thing. I did. I then had to refill all the information I have previously given. There, huge surprise: “We`re sorry, but currently there is no offers available for your query. You can try another search with different ZIP codes and weight.”.

    I have immediately contacted the website about this about 2 hours ago and still haven’t received a reply.

    This looks like a scam for the moment. The second I put my money on their website, there was no more quote available for the exact same information I had given before…

    Also, something that is extremely strange is the fact that when entering my information they have NEVER asked me WHEN (!) I want them to pick up my parcel!!!

  30. I have also tried to use Ecoparcel.eu they are a fraud, seems as if they pick up some parcels but not other.That is a good way to keep the shipping cheap I guess. Do not use them! my last three days was totally ruined, waiting for them to pick up a parcel that they never collected.

  31. This is a scam company!! I paid with credit card and they never showed up to pick up my bag, and you can not have contact with them, just send messages through the web page that they never answer. Do not use this company.

  32. Esta empresa no es una empresa seria, no recogieron mi maleta y espere 3 días, ahora es imposible contactar con ellos y se han quedado con mi dinero. No usar esta compañía!

  33. As a business I have used ecoparcel for more than one year with generally good results. I have used them several times (15 ?) for shipments from Latvia or Lithuania to France, and France to various European countries. Packages were always picked up (but not necessarily on the day indicated on the site, sometimes 2-3 days later), and delivered by GLS. The customer service is inexistent, I never had any reply from any of my emails, and their own online tracking does not work (tracking on GLS site does work). Once (early 2014) they did not show up to pick up a parcel at one of my suppliers place in Latvia, but after I asked what happened they just credited back to my ecoparcel account. At that time (feb 2014) they had lots of trouble because their main partner in Latvia, Lex System, had gone bankrupt. So for me I continue using them, but maybe tomorrow they will just disappear with the money I have on my ecoparcel account… With the prices they have they can not make enough margins to have a decent customer service, you get what you pay for. Again for me it works sufficiently well, because their prices are way lower than anyone else I’ve looked at, but don’t expect much…

  34. I have booked a shipment of 6 BOXES – pick up Copenhagen (DK), drop off La Spezia (ITALIA). I did the procedure as indicated by the company website, booked and paid before midday the day before.
    In the morning NONE CAME TO PICK UP THE BOXES instead I got some self generated emails stating that they couldn’t pick up the Parcels/BOXES because I wasn’t there and/or the business was closed…
    The address for pick up is where I live and I WAS THERE THE WHOLE TIME, MY NAME IS ON THE DOOR BELL, there is no way to get it wrong!

    I am sending the boxes as I am relocating, tomorrow will be public holiday etc…So I really need to send them today as agreed.
    I have written to them, as there are no phone numbers to call, I am waiting for the replay, hopefully not a self generated email stating the false, but something constructive trying to solve the situation!!!
    Hopefully I will be able to write that everything went fine, for now I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED!

  35. Spedito due pacchi, uno in Germania, uno in UK. Il primo mai arrivato. Il secondo danneggiato con liquidi che escono fuori dal pacco (il danno è avvenuto all’arrivo in UK).Dopo tante e.mail hanno restituito le spese di spedizione! Sto continuando ad inviare mail per risarcimento di euro 200/pacco compilando il loro form con il contenuto dei pacchi. Aspetto una loro risposta……vedremo.

  36. I’ve use Ecoparcel to get my packages since early May 2014, today is 9 of June and those idiot they are still not be able to contact physically the consignor !!! Some one can help me to solve that issue ? I’ve contact them in several way and explain was was wrong but nothing !!!! thanks

  37. I am really sorry about using this company. They have lost my parcel, they confirmed the parcel to be lost, I have claimed the insurance, sent all the documents they needed in December and haven’t heard from them since January. I have sent many other emails, facebook messages….nothing. They ignore me. I am very very disappointed. Please do not use their services. It may go well when everything is fine, but when there is a problem…it’s a nightmare.

    My parcel was booked to be picked up on the 20th June 2014 and I received an email 25th June saying that the parcel was not picked up because the parcel was not ready ! I have sent messages to them via the contact form and i Have had no reply… Which makes me think this is gotta be a SCAM since they have taken my money and are not replying to my messages .

  41. ECOPARCEL- TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

    I sent a parcel over a month ago and I still haven’t received it. I keep posting queries in their webpage and I don’t get any sort of reply from them. The tracking systems says the parcel was damaged or lost, the next day it changed to normal… and so on. Terrible customer service!! And on top of that, they do not provide any other way to contact them and get the money back.

    I do not recommend this company to anyone, better spend a bit more money and make sure the parcels arrive.

Do not use this company, they completely unreliable, nobody came to collect my parcel on the day that I had booked, after a few days of waiting I cancelled my order to received an automatic message saying that they will refund me in due course, however, they never refunded me and never replied to all the mails I sent them. They have no phone number and no e-amil address, you have to log a ticket each time you want to reach them bu nobody ever comes back to you. Their services are a rip off.

    Also, they use the term “eco” as a marketing tool only as they is nothing that they do more ecologically friendly as other transport companies.
